Plein Air Adventures

Bountiful Cherry Blossoms-9 x 12-sold
The view...

The Spring has been a busy time for plein air painting.  It started with a request for a private lesson... So I was able to arrange a couple of perfect spring days painting at a friend's farm ..

Next it was time for "Art in the Gardens" at the Shipley Secret Gardens Event. 6 artists worked in the various gardens the week before the tour... as well as during the tour.  Our paintings were exhibited at the luncheon at Hilltop House in Devon on May 16th.

Blue Adirondaks, 11 x 14- sold
Driftwood Trellis, 11 x 14  oil on board
Bird Feeder  8 x 6  oil on board

Blooming Trumpet Vine, 8 x 6- sold
most inquiries I received while working on this busy street corner
were, "do you know where the entrance to the museum is?"
On May 28
I  participated in one of the Barnes Museum's special opening events, where along with several members of the Philadelphia Sketch Club, we worked "en plein air" next to the museum during Opening weekend.

Time for the Carousel  16 x 12 oil on board
Finally I was invited to paint on site at the Devon Horse Show, along with 8 other local artists...
Storm Clouds at Devon  10 x 8  oil on board

Hot Competition  8 x 10  oil on board
Works were shown at the Ladies Hat Day luncheon and will be on exhibit at Wayne Art Center until the end of June...

Now it's time to prepare for my trip to France!  I will be leading a painting workshop with 6 artists in the South of France, July 2-9.   Click here for  Workshop Info
